Juventino Maciel is best known for his composition "Cadência", made famous by Jacob do Bandolim. But he was a prolific composer. Some of his other compositions have been performed and recorded by artists of note ("Poético", for example) while many have been unpublished -- until the release of this volume with 70 works by the master.
The work is a collaboration between Marcílio Lopes, who was responsible for the transcription and edition of hundreds of documents and recordings, and Felipe Ábido, who enriched the work with a detailed biography of Juventino. Ricardo Maciel, the master's son and also a mandolin player, made available a vast collection of manuscripts and cassette recordings which allowed a meticulous transcription of his father's works.
