Lineu Bravo is one of Brazil's most celebrated contemporary luthiers. On this page of his website you can see a partial list of the artists who have owned and played his instruments over the years. It's a long and impressive list. Rogério Caetano, the artist this model is named after, is himself one of today's best known and most influential players of the "7-cordas de aço", the steel-string variety of 7-string guitar.

The label on the guitar is undated, so we don't know for sure when it was made. I (Andrew) have seen videos of Fernando Cesar playing this same model -- who knows, maybe this very guitar -- in 2019. In any case, the instrument speaks for itself and whether played acoustically or plugged in, it both plays and sounds great. You can hear that best, as we did at Choro Camp 2023, when it is used in a roda. You want your baixarias to cut through the mix? Here's one sharp axe for you.
