Our first guitar by Jacob Washington Bispo de Oliveira of Itabuna, Bahia. This is a "7 cordas de aço", which is to say, the steel-string variety of Brazilian 7-string guitar. The primary function of these in a roda is to provide powerful, clear bass notes that guide and outline the harmony of the tune. This forceful guitar will get the job done. Those with some familiarity with Do Souto sete-cordas will note the aesthetic references in the headstock and rosette.
