Do Souto Cavaquinho, "Waldir", 1976 (SOLD)
Do Souto Cavaquinho, "Waldir", 1976 (SOLD)
When a vintage Do Souto cavaco come up for sale anywhere in Brazil, we check it out. Then, mostly, we pass. Most are not in great shape and many have been modified significantly, rarely for the better. Here's one of just two we have enthusiastically said "yes" to. Made by Moacyr Vianna, a highly regarded luthier for that fabled label during its golden years, it dates back to 1976. It sounds great, and thanks to a recent set up in Adam's shop it plays very well. We'll deliver it in a newer hardshell case, but with the original case from Ao Bandolim de Ouro as well. These Do Soutos are the pinnacle of vintage cavaquinhos for collectors and players, and increasingly rare. Here's your crack at a great one.
