(R3) 4-string rabeca, WILFRED AMARAL, 2018
(R3) 4-string rabeca, WILFRED AMARAL, 2018
This is a traditional rabeca for playing forró and cavalo marinho made by top builder Wilfred Amaral. Now based in João Pessoa, Amaral grew up in Pernambuco’s Mata Norte sugar-cane region (town of Goiana). His rabecas incorporate violin-building techniques and have a powerful sound and excellent playability (evenness, speed & dynamics along with traditional sound)— this is among the best rabecas we’ve come across.
Woods: cedrinho (top & back), cedro rosa (sides), ipê (fingerboard & tailpiece), pernambuco & maple (bow) — excellent timbre and build quality! The bow has a baroque style with white horse hair.
Professional setup in our Rabeca São Paulo shop, with new maple bridge, fine-tuners, and our strings (tuned DAEB cavalo marinho, bronze model). Can be setup in other tunings, as desired.
Comes with the original bow and a soft gig-bag
