Traditional rabeca for playing forró and cavalo marinho — this rabeca is brand new and
already singing strongly.
Made by contemporary builder, Valério Bizunga, in his shop in the historic center city of Olinda — hotspot for forró de rabeca, maracatu, and cavalo marinho. Valério’s rabeca is among the most popular and in-demand today, and almost everyone has played on his instruments because they have a traditional sound with modern functionality.
Woods: cedro rosa (top, back, neck & bow), jenipapo (sides), imbuia (fingerboard and
tailpiece) — excellent timbre and build quality! The bow is light and fast, and has traditional
nylon fishing line as bow hair.
Professional setup in our Rabeca São Paulo shop, with new maple bridge, fine-tuners, and our strings (tuned DAEB cavalo marinho, bronze model). Can be setup in other tunings, as desired.
Comes with original bow and soft gig-bag
